OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO RESPOND, NOT REACT

April 1^st ushered in Child Abuse Prevention Month. What does that mean to most of us? That depends. To me, it means it’s a reminder that we still live in a world where adults and children are living in violent homes, children are not always well protected and parents are possibly minimally supported in the complexities of child rearing, managing social stressors and depravity.

THERE IS POWER IN (RE)TWEETING BUT SOMETIMES FOR A COST

Last week controversial filmmaker Spike Lee retweeted to over 240,000 followers the address of a middle aged couple thought to belong to gunman George Zimmerman, the neighborhood volunteer watchman who shot and killed 17 y.o. Trayvon Martin, in what he has recently been calling self defense.
